A Saturday, in the park, I think it was -- October!
There was another point to my story, but of course, blogger kicked me out before I was able to finish (last time).So - this Thursday we have a Mad Crazy debate here on campus. Half of us are for the Cochlear Implant and half are against and I am on the Pro side. (We were assigned sides.) SO instead of working my tuckus off this Saturday, like I should have done, I sure did go with the twins on a wild adventure!
First, we went to the Children's Museum and now that I think about it I wish that we would have gone to the Zoo (seeing as how it's going to snow here!) but.. OH! and it was Sesame Streets opening day! And Elmo was there!
Remember - the twins are getting older and they weren't so impressed. Yeah, okay, Sar was afeared of Elmo, but I don't blame her - so was I! Definitely one mascot I would NOT want to be!!
And what is up with this re-occuring cookie monster controversy? Hello! He can stay cookie monster and teach kids about self control and self mastery, about sharing (cookies) and a whole slew of other things that have currently walked out of my mind. Leave him alone! (IF you want to look at someone who is damaging to a kid's psych check out Oscar the Grouch, come on!)
It was really cool , though, to see Sesame Street clips from around the world (Sesame Park in Canada, eh?) and to see how it's changed over time. They had the very first episode replaying and clips of all the characters they have ever had. I wouldn't have minded hanging out a little longer and reading all the material.
We face painted, of course, but the kids are getting a little too old to go (sad!) so we walked down to Ted & Wally's (heck yeah!).
After unanimously deciding that carmel ice cream tasted, as well as looked, nasty (think: baby poop) we all got chocolate concoctions and meandered up to Durham. They have some of the coolest things right now.
I think the kids think I'm crazy because the place makes me cry, anyway, but to see the Home Front: Front Lines display that they have from the Smithsonian is phenomenal - and they are having a Russian picture display which is fascinating - to see Russia and all the changes through non-American biased eyes.
I think they were more fascinated by the jewels and stones, though. All in all not a bad weekend but now I am stuck back at a desk researching Cochlear Implants. whooo hooo!

Meghan, the twins had so much fun with you Saturday. Sarah was a little annoyed though because she said, "All Meghan did was keep signing EVERYthing!!" I told her it was good practice for you to do that, but alas, like mother like daughter. Don't worry, I didn't tell her it made me crazy when you sign everything too! :)
Thank you for giving me a much needed reprieve although I would have loved to go with you guys. It sounded like such fun.
Since I can't ever get a hold of you (did you find your phone?) I'll have to let you know that my new job was fun! Call me when you have a minute and I will fill you in. I also need to pick your brain.
